Vent: The Saturday shift where I served 47 people in 2 hours and only one of them yelled at me
I usually work the quiet Tuesday morning slot at the diner on 5th Street, but last weekend my manager begged me to cover a packed Saturday brunch shift because two servers called out. I figured it would be a disaster of cold eggs and angry folks, but the rush actually flowed smooth, tips hit $140, and the only rude customer was a guy mad his hash browns touched his pancakes. Does anyone else weirdly prefer the chaos shifts over the slow ones, or am I just wired wrong?
