Question about the 'no receipt, no return' policy at my store

We switched from a 30-day return window with any proof of purchase to a strict 'no receipt, no return' rule last quarter. The drop in fraudulent returns from over 20 a week to maybe two has been amazing. Anyone else's shop see a big change after tightening up their return policy?

Hold up, that's a huge drop. It makes me wonder if you're just turning away a ton of honest people now. Like, what about the grandma who bought a blender as a gift and the receipt got lost? She's not a criminal, she's just out the money. Feels like the policy punishes way more good customers than it stops bad ones.

That drop from 20 to 2 seems a bit too perfect... like you're only counting the obvious fraud. What about the regular person who just lost a receipt? They bought something legit and now they're stuck with it. Seems like you're treating every customer like a criminal to catch a few bad ones.

Spot on @loganl22, it's like how stores lock up basic stuff now because a few people steal. Regular folks get punished for the bad ones.
