PSA: Please stop chatting on your phone while I scan your 60 items at register 4
Three days ago at the grocery store in Boise where I work the evening shift, a guy stood right in front of me for a full 90 seconds on a call about fantasy football while I scanned his stuff. I said his total three times. He waved me off like I was a fly. When he finally hung up, he asked why I looked annoyed and told me to smile more. If you cannot put the phone down for two minutes at checkout, use self check out and leave the rest of us alone. Does this happen at your store too, or is it just mine?
My buddy works the register at a Kroger down in Georgia and had almost the same thing happen last month. This lady spent her whole checkout on a call with her sister, and when he asked how she wanted to pay she just held up one finger like he was a waiter. He stood there holding her cold stuff for a minute before she finally dug out her card. At least she didn't tell him to smile, that would've pushed him right over the edge.
