A barber in Denver told me his clipper oil secret, total game changer

I was waiting for my cut last Tuesday and overheard him telling a coworker to use a drop of mineral oil on the blades after every hot towel, not just the fancy stuff. Tried it on my own clippers that night and they run smoother for way longer, plus it costs like $4 a bottle. Anyone else use something outside the usual brand lineup on their tools?

Pull the trigger on that one, it works. I used to burn through the brand name oil every couple months on my trimmers, then a buddy in the trade told me the same thing. Mineral oil is basically the same viscosity and it doesn't gum up as fast, so the blades stay cooler too. Toss a drop on after you wipe the hair off, not before, and you'll see the difference in about a week. I keep a little squeeze bottle next to my setup and haven't touched the fancy crap since. Just don't use it on the motor or anything, only the blade contact points.
