Unpopular opinion: your 'community garden' is just a hobby farm for yuppies

I spent 2 months volunteering at the one on Elm Street last spring and realized the whole thing was just 5 people with expensive tools growing kale they never ate... they composted more than they harvested. Has anyone else seen this play out in their local garden?

Right, it's basically an expensive compost operation with extra steps.

My buddy tried that "compost with extra steps" thing. Spent like 800 bucks on a fancy tumbler. Got mold and a smell so bad his HOA sent him a letter.
