That $90 'professional' camera strap I bought gave me permanent neck pain

Last spring I paid $90 for this thick padded strap from a brand everyone in photography groups swore by. The padding was so rigid it created a hot spot right on my collarbone during a 4 hour shoot at a local park. I ended up switching to a basic nylon sling that cost $12, and the neck pain went away in 2 days. Has anyone else found that expensive gear sometimes makes things worse, not better?

wait is it really that serious @vera_murphy? like i get it sucks when you drop cash on something and it doesnt deliver but some people act like its the end of the world lol. i bought a $60 face serum last week that broke me out in hives but i just gave it to my sister and moved on. expensive stuff is just stuff at the end of the day.

Did you see that article about people spending tons on those fancy ice rollers and then they actually cause redness for some skin types? It's wild how the price tag doesn't always match the results.
