Changed my mind about password managers after a scare last month

I always thought password managers were too risky to trust, but after my email got hacked on July 12th and someone tried to drain $200 from my PayPal, I finally gave in. I installed Bitwarden and spent an afternoon changing all my important passwords to random strings I could never remember. Has anyone else had a close call that pushed them to change their habits?

oh man, my buddy mark from down the street had the same thing happen. he was like "passwords are fine, i've been using the same one since 2008" and then his steam account got hit and someone bought a bunch of skins with his card. he was so mad he literally threw his laptop across his couch. now he's got bitwarden too and keeps texting me screenshots of his random passwords like they're trophies. it's funny how one bad day just flips a switch for people.

yeah i was the same way honestly... i used to think password managers were just asking for trouble, like putting all your eggs in one basket or whatever. but after i had to reset like 30 accounts in one night because my old "password123" style was way too easy to guess, i just gave up trying to remember everything. it's weird how you don't realize how bad your habits are until something actually happens. now i don't even know what half my passwords are and it's kinda freeing in a way.
