My uncle's comment about paper checks made me rethink digital-only banking
Had lunch with my 74 year old uncle last week. He runs a small produce stand, cash and checks only. He said, "digital banks are fine until the power goes out and you need to buy gas." That hit different because he survived two bank closures in the 80s. I've been fully app-based since 2019, no branches anywhere. He showed me his checkbook, all carbon copies and a register. Made me realize I have zero backup if my phone dies or the network fails. Anyone else keep a little cash or paper method around for that reason?
