Crossed 10,000 tap-to-pay transactions this month, never expected that number
I run a small coffee cart in Portland and just hit 10,000 contactless payments in one month. That's up from 4,200 the same time last year. Crazy part is I never pushed anyone to tap, they just started doing it after the EMV chip delays got worse. The real wake up call was when my square reader showed 68% of all sales came from taps, mostly phone wallets. I had to upgrade my terminal twice because the old one kept timing out during the lunch rush. Has anyone else seen tap volume jump that fast without offering any incentives? I'm wondering if this is happening everywhere or just my area.
