Appreciation post: A teller at my local branch in Omaha helped me catch a weird $1,200 charge last month.

She noticed the small payment to a company I'd never heard of while I was depositing a check, and now I always check my statement line by line, but what other tricks do people use to spot fraud fast?

$1,200? That's not a small payment, that's a massive red flag. Good on that teller for catching it. I set up text alerts for any charge over $50, so my phone blows up if something weird happens.

Totally! It feels like we're all just expected to be our own security guards now. Every app wants two-factor, every bank wants us to watch for fraud, and we have to remember a hundred passwords. That alert system is smart because the companies sure aren't going to catch everything for us. The whole thing is just another daily chore that didn't used to exist.

Yeah, it's exhausting. We're all just trying to keep up with a new job we never asked for. I feel the same way.
