Spent $60 on a silpat mat and finally my cookies don't burn
I kept burning the bottoms of my chocolate chip cookies even when I followed the recipe perfectly. Picked up a silpat mat for $60 at a local kitchen supply shop and my last batch came out golden and even. Anyone else struggle with dark cookie sheets?
Are you kidding me, the silpat mat was a total game changer for me too? I used to get so frustrated with those cheap nonstick pans where the bottoms would turn black while the tops were still raw. I spent way too long adjusting temps and moving racks around before I just gave in and bought one. Now my shortbread cookies come out perfect every single time, no more burnt edges ruining the whole batch. It feels like such a waste of money until you see how much better your baking turns out. I honestly don't know how I managed without it before.
