My buddy had almost the same thing happen with The Room. His girlfriend showed it to him as a joke, like look how bad this is, and now he owns it on Blu-ray and watches it like once a month. He quotes it constantly and it drives everyone nuts. That movie is awful in every way but he says that's the whole point, the badness is the fun. So I get it, sometimes a movie being a total mess is exactly what makes it a good time. Your brother basically handed you a gift and didn't even know it.
