My $8 DVD of "Battlefield Earth" from a pawn shop in Gary, Indiana got scratched and froze at the worst part
Picked it up last month for movie night with my brother, since we love laughing at the cheese. Halfway through, the disc skipped and never came back, so we sat there staring at a frozen John Travolta. Anybody got a trick for buffing out scratches, or should I just hunt down another copy?
You try the toothpaste trick yet? Plain white paste, rub it on the scratch with a soft cloth going in circles, then rinse it off and dry it with a lint free towel. It won't fix a deep gouge but it smooths out light scuffs enough to get past the freeze. If that fails, Gary pawn shops probably got ten more copies for cheap, so just grab another one.
