Why does nobody talk about how bad the microwave smell gets after 3 weeks of working in a breakroom?
I tried nuking my leftover tuna casserole in the work microwave last Tuesday and the smell mixed with someone's burnt popcorn from the day before. It was so bad the whole third floor smelled like a wet dog and old fish for 4 hours. Has anyone else had to deal with a coworker who keeps reheating fish in a shared microwave?

LOL "wet dog and old fish" is basically the official scent of my breakroom. I once reheated leftover chili in there and the smell was so bad that my coworker literally left a note on the microwave saying "please stop cooking dead things." I thought I was being slick by covering it with a paper towel, but nope, the whole office still knew it was me. How do you even explain that to HR without sounding like a total mess?

Had a buddy who worked IT at a big insurance place. His coworker thought it was totally fine to microwave frozen fish sticks every single Tuesday. One time it got so bad the fire alarm went off because someone thought the smell was an electrical fire. The whole building got evacuated for like 20 minutes until the fire department showed up and confirmed it was just a lunch crime. My buddy said the HR lady sent out a passive aggressive email titled "Microwave Etiquette Tips" that same afternoon.
