My boss made me redo 40 invoices because the font was 11 instead of 12

I spent 6 hours fixing invoices for a client in Phoenix last week. My manager walked by, saw one, and said the font size was wrong. She made me change every single one from 11 to 12 point. Took another 3 hours. Has anyone else had a boss that cares about pointless stuff like that instead of actual work?

My old boss at a car dealership in Tulsa made me reprint 60 sales sheets because the logo was 2 pixels off center. I learned to just keep a template saved with all the exact specs she wanted and never deviated from it again. After that I'd print one, run it past her, then batch the rest so I never got stuck redoing hours of work. It's stupid they care about that stuff but once you figure out what triggers them you can work around it pretty easy.

That thing @cameron538 said about figuring out what triggers them is spot on... I read somewhere that bosses like that are usually just passing down pressure from above, making it seem like tiny details matter more than they do. Once you know their pet peeve you can just fake it and move on.
