The Tuesday I learned our office coffee fund was paying for the boss's boat gas
So I was the one who collected the $5 a month coffee money at our office in Boise, and around month 8 I noticed we were short about $40 every single time I counted. I sat down one Tuesday and went line by line through the receipts against what people put in, and it turned out our manager was pulling cash out for what she wrote down as "misc." I didn't say a word to her face. I just started a group text to the 7 of us who chip in, and we switched to a locked cash box with a written log that I keep at my desk. She asked why the change and I said it was for my own sanity. Two weeks later the "misc" thing stopped and nobody had to make it weird. Has anyone else caught a boss dipping into the office snack or coffee pot, and did you call it out or just quietly lock it up?
