I always thought the Enchantments in Washington were overhyped until I finally did the thru-hike last September.

Felt the same way about the Enchantments for years, honestly. Kept seeing the same photos and thought it was just another alpine lake spot. Hiked it last summer and the scale of the place just blew me away, those larches up there were unreal. Totally changed my mind.

That "overhyped until I finally did it" feeling is everywhere. It happens with movies people won't stop talking about, or a new restaurant everyone posts about. We get so sick of hearing about something we decide it can't be that good. Then we try it ourselves and have to admit they were right all along. It's like our own stubbornness sets the bar low so the real thing can actually impress us.
