After someone dropped the entire mac and cheese dish and we all just stood there pretending it wasn't melting into the beige wool, I realized I need assigned seats and a set menu next time, has anyone else had a food disaster that changed their whole hosting style?

Three family reunions and a work picnic later, I'm still eating off paper plates on the floor and somehow nobody's died from a fallen lasagna. Honestly, sounds like you got a free story out of it, and the carpet probably needed cleaning anyway.
