That time Uncle Rick cornered me about my job at Thanksgiving and I actually had a good comeback
I found one trick that actually shut him up: I just said I make more than he does now and walked away to grab more pie, has anyone else found a way to stop the interrogation without causing a scene?

My own Uncle Rick always goes after my job at the moving company too. So what did he say after you dropped that line? Did he just go quiet or try to ask how much exactly? I've found that if you give them a number right away they usually back off because they don't want to look nosy in front of everyone. But if you just say "more than you" they might keep pushing for details later when nobody else is around.
