Vent: A pilot at the FBO said our panel work was 'cleaner than a factory install'

He was specifically pointing out the wire bundle routing behind a Garmin G5 we'd just put in a Cessna 172. It got me thinking about how much pride we take in work no one usually sees. Do you have a trick for keeping those rear-area harnesses looking sharp?

That's the real mark of a pro, right there.

Exactly. I read an interview once where a musician said the true pros make the hard stuff look easy and the easy stuff sound important. It's all about that quiet confidence, you know? They don't need to show off every single skill they have in every single moment. The real mark is doing the job so well it seems simple, even when it absolutely isn't. That's the level I always aim for, just that clean, solid execution.

Totally agree with what @faithwalker said. You see it in all kinds of work, like a good carpenter or a mechanic. They just handle the problem without any fuss, and you only realize how hard it was later. That quiet skill is what everyone should try for.
