Showerthought: the lead at my shop in Tucson told me to ditch the DMM for a live wire check and I fought him on it
I have been chasing a flap disagree on a King Air for three days and kept going back to my Fluke 87, because that is how I was trained 14 years ago. The lead walked over, unplugged my meter, clipped a test light to the flap motor breaker, and said "watch this, the meter lies when the circuit is loaded." The light dimmed instead of going out, and that pointed straight to the corroded cannon plug on the belly the whole time. I swore by voltage checks for over a decade and one old test light just made me look like a rookie. How many of you still keep a simple test light in the go bag?
