Question about those new portable spectrum analyzers

Spent about $2,500 on a compact one for field troubleshooting and it saved me a full day of chasing down an intermittent VHF com issue on a King Air last week, but I'm curious if anyone has found a more affordable brand that's just as reliable.

Spend that much on a tool that works and you stop looking for a cheaper one, full stop. The amount of time and stress you just saved is the whole point. Hunting for a bargain version now is like finding a gold mine and then complaining about the shovel price. That thing paid for itself in a single job, so the brand name on the side is just extra letters.

This is so true for a lot of things, actually.

Feel this in my bones with camera gear. Bought a lens that just works every single time. The peace of mind is the real product.
