Monday's antenna swap turned into a full week in Tulsa
We got called out to a King Air that kept losing VHF signal, and what I thought was a 2 hour antenna swap turned into 5 days of chasing a hairline crack in the coax shield near the tail cone. Found it after we finally pulled the entire harness and bench tested each segment, the crack was hidden under an old zip tie mount. Repair cost the owner $1,900 once parts and labor added up, but the look on the pilot's face when the ATIS came in clear beat any paycheck. Anyone else tangled with coax damage that only shows up under flex or vibration?
