Wasted $600 on a fancy scan tool that I barely use now

Bought that high-end Autel scanner three years ago thinking I'd use it every day, but honestly my $90 ANCEL does 90% of the same stuff and sits in my box gathering dust half the time - anyone else regret overspending on tools they thought they'd need?

Does having that peace of mind when the fancy stuff breaks not make it worth the cost though?

Buddy of mine bought a Snap-On scanner, now it's a pricey paperweight in his garage.

$1,800 for a Solus Pro and the thing bricked itself after a software update. Called Snap-On and they wanted another $400 just to send it back in. @the_cole I get wanting peace of mind, but paying that much for something that dies on you is a bad deal. My buddy's unit sits under his workbench collecting dust right next to my old Matco scanner that quit after two years.
