The week from hell with a '98 Ford F-150 that nearly made me quit
Last Tuesday I had this F-150 roll in with a bad misfire on cylinder 6, thought it was an easy coil pack swap. Turned into a three day nightmare when I found the wiring harness had melted into the exhaust manifold, costing the customer $1,200 in labor alone. Then Friday another F-150 showed up with the exact same issue, different spot in the harness. Has anyone else dealt with the nylon wrapped harness on those late 90s trucks just crumbling apart?

That "nylon wrapped" part caught my eye. Were these both northern trucks seeing road salt or did they come from somewhere dry too?

@piper_reed The "road salt" part makes me wonder - did you get a look at the frame rails underneath or were these just surface-level photos?
