I finally stopped fighting the digital torque wrench trend

I was at a shop in Denver last Thursday and heard two young techs laughing about how anyone still uses a beam style torque wrench. I get it, digital wrenches are fast and loud, but I've been turning wrenches for 18 years and my old Snap-on beam has never lied to me once. The digital one my buddy lent me gave a false click on a caliper bracket and I nearly sent a rotor out warped. Maybe I'm just set in my ways, but I trust a needle that swings naturally over a screen that beeps. Anyone else feel like the new stuff adds fuss without real gains, or am I just the old guy in the corner now?
