Tried wet sanding my own clear coat on a scrap fender and the orange peel actually disappeared
I grabbed a dented fender off a Civic we were scrapping at the shop in Mesa and figured it was a safe way to practice. Went 800 grit, then 1500, then 2000 with a little dish soap in the water, and buffed it out with a wool pad on a cheap Harbor Freight rotary. That panel came out smoother than the doors I shot with the gun set at 28 psi, which honestly bugged me a bit. So now I'm wondering if I've been laying clear too dry this whole time. What psi are you guys running on your clear coats, because clearly mine is off.
