Unpopular opinion: my old iPhone 6 on a $15 tripod beat my buddy's $400 star tracker setup
We shot the same Orion Nebula from a field outside Flagstaff on Saturday and his stacked rig kept drifting every 30 seconds while my cheap setup nailed 200 clean subs. I think it comes down to me polar aligning for 45 minutes while he trusted the app. Anyone else get better shots from dumb gear than the fancy stuff?
