That guy on the forum who said to shoot the moon at f/8 not f/2.8
I spent 6 months posting hazy moon shots in this group, always blaming my lens. Some random commenter kept saying stop down to f/8 and drop the ISO to 100, even on a cheap scope. Finally tried it on a clear night in Phoenix, and the craters came out sharp enough to count. Wish I'd listened back in March, but now I'm re-shooting all my old targets. Anyone else fight their settings for way too long before trying the simple advice?

MAN, that reminds me of my buddy Dave who fought his telescope for a YEAR blaming the mount before someone told him to just let it sit outside for an hour before shooting. He finally tried it and the difference was night and day, sharp stars and everything. Now he makes everyone wait outside with their gear frozen before handing over the eyepiece.
