Dropped $300 on a light pollution filter and my backyard shots look the same

Bought it 4 months ago for my Bortle 7 suburb outside Denver and I honestly cannot tell it apart from my unfiltered subs. Has anyone actually gotten a filter to fix city skyglow, or did I just light $300 on fire?
