I finally asked my neighbor to stop parking in front of my driveway after 6 months of being too nervous

I live in a tight street in Austin and this guy kept blocking part of my driveway every other day. Everyone said to just leave a polite note, but that felt too passive. So last Tuesday, I walked over at 8 AM when he was getting in his car and said, 'Hey, could you please leave the last 3 feet clear so I can get my truck out?' He apologized and moved it right then. Has anyone else had to do something direct like this instead of the usual advice?

Good call. Direct is always better than a note.

Sometimes a note gives people space to process things first. A quick text can feel less intense than a face-to-face chat right away. What if the person needs a minute to think?

Doubt it's that big a deal, cooper.nathan, but sure.
