A barista's throwaway line about my drink order stuck with me all week

I was at a coffee shop on Tuesday and ordered my usual oat milk latte with an extra shot. The barista handed it over and said, "You always get the same thing, ever think about what that says about your decision making?" I laughed it off but it actually got me thinking. We do the same stuff out of habit, even when it stops working, like staying in a job that drains us or sticking with a gym routine that gives zero results. So I tried asking myself one small question each morning, "Is this choice helping me or just comfortable?" It's only been a few days but I already swapped my commute route and finally messaged a friend I'd been putting off. Has anyone else had a random comment from a stranger totally reframe how they handle daily choices?

Funny how strangers see our patterns clearer than we do.

That hits way too close to home. My own blind spots are basically invisible to me until someone names them out loud. It's honestly a little humbling when a casual acquaintance spots in five minutes what I've missed for years. Makes you wonder what else we're all missing about ourselves.
