Water heater died at 5am Saturday and the plumber quoted me $1,850 to swap it
Woke up to a cold shower and a puddle in the garage, so I called the first plumber on Google and he said the tank was shot, plus code now wants an expansion tank and a pan with a drain line. I asked if I could just do the tank myself and he gave me a flat $1,850 quote for the full job in Omaha, parts and permit included. Is that in the normal range for a 50 gallon swap these days, or should I keep calling around?
