That $50 dryer vent kit on Amazon actually caught my place on fire
I figured a cheap flex hose was fine for my laundry setup, but after 4 months the foil liner shredded and packed lint right against the wall outlet. The heat buildup melted the duct collar in my basement in Buffalo, and I only caught it because the smoke alarm went off at 2 AM. My HVAC guy said those kits fail constantly and showed me the scorch marks. Anyone else had a budget vent hose nearly burn their house down, and what do you use instead?
