That $450 'premium' networking event was a total waste
I paid $450 for a Scottsdale mixer last month expecting real connections, but it was just vendors pitching each other and a stale buffet. Did anyone else walk away with zero actual leads from these high-priced events, or is it just me?
Spent $300 on something like that two years back and yeah, it was the same deal. A bunch of people with booths trying to sell to other people with booths, and nobody actually there to buy anything. But honestly, what did you expect for a "mixer" in Scottsdale? Those things are mostly a reason for the hosts to make money off the ticket sales. It's not really that deep, you paid for the room and the snacks, the leads were never part of the deal.
