The worst tree damage I've ever seen came from a 'weekend warrior' with a chainsaw
Last week in Boulder, a homeowner tried to remove a 40-foot pine himself after watching a few videos. He made a bad face cut, the tree barber-chaired, and it smashed through his garage roof. Has anyone else had to clean up a mess this bad from a DIY attempt?

But honestly, how much worse is that than a pro making a mistake?

My neighbor's deck collapsed last summer because he skipped the permit. A pro's mistake gets fixed on their dime, but his cost him 15 grand out of pocket. You really want to roll those dice?

Oh man, that's brutal! The big difference is a pro's insurance covers the new garage, but the homeowner's wallet takes the full hit. That video tutorial didn't include a lesson on liability.
