Stopped using a handsaw for pruning cuts over 2 inches after a climber in Portland showed me how fast an arborist blade on a reciprocating saw works

Saw him drop a 4 inch limb in 12 seconds flat with zero tear out and that was enough to make me ditch the manual saw for anything I can't snap with my fingers, anyone else switch to power for bigger cuts and notice cleaner healing?

That blade makes all the difference. Switched to the Diablo carbide tipped after seeing the same thing and it just glides through. Night and day for clean cuts especially when you're working above your head.

12 seconds for a 4 inch limb! That sounds almost too fast to be real. Zero tear out on a cut that size with a sawzall is impressive, I usually get a little fraying on the bottom even with a sharp blade. Definitely makes me question why I still drag out the handsaw for anything over 2 inches. You got a specific brand of blade he was using or was it just the standard arborist one?
