Warning: the washer hose that blew at 11pm in Tulsa and what I did
Last Tuesday around 11pm I got a call from a lady in Tulsa whose washer supply hose let go and flooded her whole laundry room, water was an inch deep by the time I walked in. I shut the main off, pulled the hoses, and saw the rubber was cracked and bulging, probably 12 years old. I told her the braided stainless ones run about $25 and last way longer, and she had me swap both while I was there. Old rubber hoses used to be all we had and we just replaced them every few years, now supplies last longer but folks never think to check them. How often do you all tell customers to check their hoses, or do you just fix what broke and move on?
