Three dryers in one week with the same stupid thermal fuse problem
This week I had three calls where the dryer was heating but the drum was dead. All three were Whirlpool models from the mid 2010s. First one took me 40 minutes to trace because the thermal fuse looked fine with a meter but was actually open under load. Second one the customer had already replaced the belt and roller kit twice, but they never checked the fuse since it read okay cold. Third one I finally got smart and just jumped the fuse to confirm before ordering parts. What gets me is every single one had lint packed around the blower housing, so the real fix is telling people to clean the vent line every six months. Pulled a full shop vac canister of lint from that last house. Anyone else seeing this pattern lately, or is it just the older units in my area hitting that 8 to 10 year mark all at once?

Honestly, jumping the fuse just masks a short that can burn your house down.
