Dropped $400 on a Fluke meter and it failed me within 3 months
Had this 1587 FC blow a fuse taking readings on a commercial dryer in Phoenix, and the replacement fuse cost me more than my old Klein setup. Anyone else ditch the fancy stuff and go back to simpler meters?

Blew a fuse on mine testing a walk-in freezer compressor last summer. Took two days to get the right replacement from the supplier. Old Amprobe from my first job still sits in the drawer, never let me down once.

Tbh that stings, man. Spending that kind of cash only to have it flop on a routine job is rough. I had a similar thing happen with a Brymen I was hyped on, the rotary knob went loose after just a few weeks. Ended up grabbing a cheapo Klein off the truck just to finish the week, and honestly it's been fine. There's something to be said for gear that just works without all the extra bells and whistles. Hope that fuse didn't kill your whole day.
