I was sure the hype around 'Monster' was just nostalgia, but a friend in Chicago insisted I watch it.

After the first five episodes, I realized the slow-burn storytelling was building something truly special. Has anyone else had an anime completely change your mind after an initial skeptical start?

Stuck with it through the first half even when it felt slow, and man, that payoff was worth every second of setup. The show really makes you care about the characters before it pulls the rug out. I just had to trust the process and let the story build.
