Heads up: picking Blue Lock over Attack on Titan killed my watch party
I had to choose between showing my friends Blue Lock or AoT for movie night last Friday and went with Blue Lock because I thought the hype was real. Three people fell asleep during the first match and now nobody trusts my anime picks anymore. Anybody else just pick the wrong show and lose all credibility?

Did your friends even like sports anime before that? Blue Lock is great but it's not for everyone, especially if they're expecting a serious plot.

Kim's point stands but it reminds me of when my cousin tried to get me into cooking shows by showing me Kitchen Nightmares first. Blue Lock is more about hype and crazy goals than deep stories, which can throw off someone expecting something else. It's like handing someone a monster energy drink when they asked for coffee.
