Vent: Alarm wiring mess after a house refresh
I set up an alarm in a home that just had some walls moved around. One side says running wires when the house is first built is cleaner and faster. The other side likes to add alarms after to match the owner's real habits. This time, the new layout blocked key spots, so it took twice as long. Which method do you all prefer for your jobs?

Why not just do both?

I saw that "why not just do both" line and it reminded me of a study I read. It said our brains suck at handling two hard things at once because we just switch back and forth really fast. Like if you're trying to write a paper while having a tv show on, you'll keep losing your place and the writing gets messy. My cousin tried to learn Spanish while working out, and she barely remembered any words because she was too focused on her reps. So splitting your effort usually means both things turn out kinda bad.

Ever see someone try to do both? My buddy Dave from college tried coding all night while starting a sourdough. He passed out at his desk and the starter exploded all over his kitchen, like a weird glue monster. He just ended up with no sleep and a huge mess to clean. Sometimes doing both means you do neither well, right?
