That bracket inspection checklist I skimmed actually had a point
Was doing the paperwork on a panel swap in Phoenix last month and got bored enough to read the fine print on the mounting bracket spec sheet, turns out there's a torque range for the tamper screws that's way narrower than what most of us probably use. I've been snugging them down by feel for like 8 years and never thought about it, but the sheet said overtightening can crack the plastic housing and cause false alarms in hot weather, which explains that one attic job that kept chirping at 3am. Anyone else ever dig into those spec sheets or is that just me being stuck waiting on a dispatch call?
