Showerthought: I picked a wireless retrofit over a full rewire in a 1920s house
Went with a Qolsys panel and wireless sensors to save the plaster walls, but now I'm getting one sensor that drops signal every few days. Anyone know a good fix for that, or should I have just cut the walls?

Ever try to save a wall and end up fighting a ghost in the machine instead? I did something similar and spent more time moving a door sensor two inches to the left than I ever would have patching drywall. Sometimes the old ways are the right ways.

My old man swore by hand tools for everything. I used to laugh and buy the latest gadget, but after a sensor took me three hours to calibrate last week, I get it now. Sometimes simple just works better.

My last smart lock had me missing a basic deadbolt for weeks.
