Customer asked me to install a panel in a crawlspace full of raccoons

Last Thursday I showed up to a residential job in Austin and the homeowner casually mentioned the 'little critters' under the house. I dropped my drill and flashlight into the crawlspace hatch, and I could hear four or five raccoons hissing back at me. The customer said they'd been living there for weeks and she just wanted the keypad on the kitchen wall instead, which made no sense since the wiring ran through the crawlspace. I told her it was an extra $150 to relocate the panel and she actually paid it. Has anyone else had to deal with animals nesting in a job site, or do I just have bad luck with wildlife?

Honestly, raccoons under a crawlspace are pretty much a Tuesday in Texas. Sounds like you got lucky she paid the extra fee without making a fuss, so I'd call that a win. Tbh, the real question is why she thought a keypad would fix anything when the wiring is clearly down there in raccoon town.
