Vent: old timer in Wichita told me to stop greasing the jackscrew so much, and he was dead right
Kept slathering it on every 100 hour check because it felt like I was doing something useful, and it just collected grit until the trim got stiff. What did some old head tell you that took you way too long to believe?

Old timer at my field said wax on the aileron hinges just attracts dirt and gum. Took me two annuals of fighting stiff controls before I quit. Now I wipe them dry and they move like butter. Learn the hard way every time.
