Vent: a wasp nest in the pitot tube grounded a King Air in Tulsa
Found it during a preflight in Tulsa when the airspeed needle never moved on the taxi check. Pulled the cover and mud daubers had packed the pitot tube solid, about 40 minutes of digging with a wire and a shop vac. The pilot laughed it off but that plane sat 3 hours while I confirmed the static side was clear. Now I keep a plug in my bag and check every single one. Anyone got a trick for getting that crust out faster?
