Remember when we all thought you had to preheat the air fryer for everything?

I was burning the outside of my chicken thighs for a year before I saw a comment on a blog saying to skip the preheat for thicker, bone-in cuts. Tried it last night and the inside was actually cooked through without the skin turning to charcoal. Anyone else find a specific 'rule' that was actually holding you back?

What other cooking rules have you found are total nonsense?

Yeah paulschmidt, the whole "searing seals in juices" thing is a total myth. In my experience, it just makes good crust.

Add rinsing pasta after cooking to the list of pointless steps.
