My chicken wings turned into charcoal in the air fryer last night
I set it for 25 minutes at 400 degrees like I always do, but forgot to flip them halfway. Came back to a smoky kitchen and blackened wings. What's your go-to time and temp for wings to avoid this?

Check the actual temperature of your air fryer with an oven thermometer. Mine runs about 25 degrees hotter than the set temp, which would explain the burn. I cook frozen wings at 380 for 22 minutes, flipping once, and they come out perfect. The lower base temp gives you more room for error if you miss the flip.

That thing about missing the flip and them still being fine is so real. I had a whole batch of fries turn out weird because my dog started barking at a squirrel and I got distracted. Came back like ten minutes later expecting charcoal, but they were actually still okay, just extra crispy on one side. Makes me wonder how much we overthink the timing sometimes.

Used to just crank it to 400 the whole time. A lower temp for longer, like 380 for 20, then a quick blast at the end, keeps them from burning. Forgot to flip once and they were still fine.
